Chelsea have won sixteen of their eighteen home league matches this season, losing just once (2-4 to Man City) and drawing just once (3-3 v Everton) also. They have scored a massive sixty goals in front of their own fans at Stamford Bridge this season and they conceded just fourteen goals (with half of them coming against Everton and Man City in the two matches they did not win), keeping ten clean sheets.

Wigan have lost all of their last five away trips and have lost six of their last seven encounters on the road, with only a 1-1 draw against Sunderland giving them a point. Apart from an away win at Aston Villa on the opening day of the season, Wigan have only managed to beat Burnley and Wolves away from home and have picked up two draws – the aforementioned draw with Sunderland and a 2-2 draw with Stoke. They have kept just two clean sheets on their travels, winning both games, but have failed to score on six occasions. They also had the biggest beating of the season when they were beaten 9-1 by Spurs.

Wigan have nothing to play for and are not good on the road, while Chelsea have everything to play for and are almost unstoppable at Stamford Bridge. This does not bode well for the travelling side and see them taking a massive beating in this game.

Manchester United v Stoke City Soccer Betting Tip :

Alex Ferguson’s men have it all to do and they have to help that Wigan help them out in order to claim their fourth straight title and surpass Liverpool’s record of eighteen top division league wins. They have not looked at their best this season at times, but they will have to be at their best in order to stand a chance of winning the title. Will they do their part in the title race? Or will Stoke do Chelsea a favour and stop United winning?


Manchester United will be confident of beating a Stoke side that has failed to score against them in the three previous matchups between these two sides since Stoke returned to the top table of English football. United won 5-0 at Old Trafford last season and 1-0 and 2-0 at the Britannia Stadium. At Old Trafford this season Man Utd have won fifteen, drawn one and lost two of their eighteen league fixtures. Their two losses came against Chelsea and Aston Villa, while they dropped points against Sunderland as well. They have scored forty-eight goals in front of their own fans whilst conceding just twelve and keeping ten clean sheets.

Stoke have not being winning games on the road this season, but they have lost just six times. Of the other twelve games they have won four and drawn eight. They have managed just ten goals on the road, scoring more than one goal in a match just once and they have failed to score in nine of their eighteen away matches. They have, however, kept seven clean sheets away from home, but I can’t see them getting another one at Old Trafford.

As with the Chelsea game, Manchester United have everything to play for while their opponents have nothing to play for. While United are not a goal scoring machine like Chelsea they know how to find the net and I feel that they will do so again while keeping the run of Stoke failing to score against them going.

This Wednesday evening sees four teams play their games in hand before we reach the weekend and the final games of the 2009/2010 Premier League season. Fulham take on Stoke City in a mid-table battle while the big game of the night sees Manchester City host Tottenham Hotspur in a match that could decide who of the two will be playing in the Champions League next season. Fulham v Stoke City:

The first match between these two sides this season was an epic match, with Stoke leading 3-0 at half time before almost throwing the game away in the second half and just about taking the points with a 3-2 victory. However, this match is to be played at Craven Cottage rather than the Britannia Stadium and Fulham are a much better side there than on the road.

Of their eighteen home league matches this season Fulham have lost just four, winning eleven and drawing three. Their losses have all come against top six sides (Chelsea, Arsenal, Aston Villa and Manchester City). However, they are safe in the Premier League and their thoughts will be on ensuring that their best players are rested and un-injured for the Europa League final in one weeks time. Will this affect them in this match, which is effectively a nothing game? I feel it will as Roy Hodgson will make changes and rest several of his first team.

Can Stoke take advantage of this? They have an away record of three wins, eight draws and six losses in their seventeen away league fixtures this season. Even with the changes that Fulham are likely to make I don’t see Tony Pulis’ men getting any more than a draw out of this match.

Manchester City v Tottenham Hotspur Live Soccer Betting Tip:

The race for fourth is still wide open between these two sides, with Spurs currently sitting fourth in the Premier League on 67 points with a +27 goal difference and Man City sitting fifth on 66 points with a +29 goal difference. A win for Spurs in this match will ensure that they’ll be in the Champions League next season and they would close to within two points of Arsenal, bringing the battle for third place down to the final day of the season.


However, it will not be easy for Spurs as they travel to Eastlands where Man City have won twelve and drawn four of their eighteen home league games. They have lost just twice at home this season and both losses – v Everton and Manchester United – have come in the last five matches, however they bounced back after losing to city rivals United with an impressive 3-1 win over Aston Villa.

Will they be able continue on from that win over Villa and move into fourth place in the league?
City have a good chance as Spurs’ away form has slipped in recent weeks and they have lost four of their last seven away league matches, including both of their last encounters on the road against Sunderland and Manchester United. In the other three away games they have beaten Wigan Athletic and Stoke City and managed to draw at St. Andrews with Birmingham City.

Their manager, Harry Redknapp, will have them pumped up for the biggest game of their season and they will make it a great game, but I cannot see them getting anything from the game. However, Spurs have found the net in five of their last six away games and Man City have conceded goals in four of their last five home matches so I see there being goals.

Rangers away form this season has seen them record eleven wins, five draws and two losses away from Ibrox. They have found the net in fourteen of those eighteen matches and have conceded in ten of their away games.

They will be highly confident of taking the three points from Celtic as they travel across the city, being the deserved champions.
